Including a RIMA and USA Swim certified competitive swim team.The Lifeguard should be a motivated team player comfortable working in a structured environment. Our members provide our community fitness center with a dedicated clientele, and we encourage a strong customer service focus in our team. This position is looking to fill Monday-Friday 6:15am-3:00pm and/or 3:00-8:00pm with occasional weekends required.Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:Enforce all pool rules and Jewish Alliance policiesMaintain a consistent work schedule where you always exceed member expectationsActively participate in meetings and training programs including in-service trainingMaintain current Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED certificationAssist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics centerNotify Aquatic Director of any accidents, rescues, problems, or equipment in need of repairUnderstand and anticipate the needs of members; be attentive, respectful and listenMaintain a clean, safe work environmentEnjoy the following benefits of employment with the Jewish Alliance:A strong member base and dedicated clienteleEmployee service discountFree membershipEmployment with a large, financially sound companyQualificationsQualified candidates will possess the following skills, abilities, and experience:Current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR for the professional rescuer, first aid, and AEDProficient swimming ability – need to swim at least 300 yards non-stop under 8 minutesAbility to properly extract victims from the water to the pool deckAttentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in process of unsafe behaviorsMobility around and in the poolExcellent communication and positive engagement with employees, members and guestsEnthusiastic, friendly attitude and professional appearanceReliable team player with the ability to work under pressure and multitaskA flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidaysAbility to stand for long periods of timeWater Safety Instructor Certification (Preferred not required) Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island
