Marine Electrician (US Navy Submarine) General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Marine Electrician for U.S. Navy submarine service. The primary location is Kings Bay, Georgia, with additional onsite locations at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (Kittery, Maine), Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (Hawaii), Norfolk Naval Shipyard (Portsmouth, Virginia), and Bremerton Naval Shipyard (Washington). Job Description The SUB AIT program supports the In‑Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness. Responsibilities include providing production support, component repairs, and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance, removal/installation, troubleshooting, and associated testing for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities. This work helps restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the U.S. Navy’s fast‑attack submarines. Onsite Locations Portsmouth Naval Shipyard – Kittery, Maine Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard – Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Kings Bay Naval Shipyard – Kings Bay, Georgia Norfolk Naval Shipyard – Portsmouth, Virginia Bremerton Naval Shipyard – Bremerton, Washington Requirements 2+ years of experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the assigned trade. High School Diploma or GED. U.S. citizenship. Confidential security clearance or higher (DOW final clearance); must have a final favorable adjudicated Tier 3 investigation. Contractor personnel must possess a Department of War Personnel Clearance (PCL) at the confidential level or higher. Marine Electrician Tasks TSD EW (Non‑Nuclear Electrical Work) Remove, modify, and install electrical equipment. Remove, install, groom, and band wireways and cabling. Pack and unpack equipment and bulkhead penetrations. Repair electrical equipment and cabling. Use electrical checks to test and troubleshoot electrical systems. Disconnect, groom, and reconnect wiring. TSD E4 (Generator/Motor Repair, Electrical) Disassemble and replace motor and generator components. Troubleshoot, modify, and adjust motors and generators. Balance motor and generator components. Insulate using mechanical and dip methods. Stone and bevel commutator and slip rings. Assemble motor and generator components. TSD TZ (Topside Electrical Work) Remove, modify, and install electrical equipment. Disconnect, remove, install, groom, band, and reconnect wireways and cabling. Use electrical checks to test electrical systems. Remove, install, and test hull fittings, penetrations, and tank level indicators. Skill Requirements TSD EW: Trained and qualified with experience on all related tasks and components; experienced in cutting cables and hooking up equipment, panels, and boxes per Navy Standard Methods Drawings; performed SUBSAFE work per NAVSEA 0924‑062‑0010 L/R. TSD E4: Trained and qualified with experience on all related tasks and components; experienced in cutting cables and hooking up equipment, panels, and boxes per Navy Standard Methods Drawings; performed SUBSAFE work per NAVSEA 0924‑062‑0010 L/R.
