This role is critical in maintaining compliance with HRSA, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and healthcare-specific accounting requirements while enabling leadership with timely, reliable financial insights.Essential Job DutiesOversee general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processesManage end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant compensation for all employees, including review of payroll calculations, tax withholdings, deductions, and adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulationsEnsure accurate recording of revenue, grants, payroll, benefits, and inter-departmental allocationsReview balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely mannerProvide support, review, and provide feedback on the monthly and annual financial statementsSupport management reporting, dashboards, and variance analysisEnsure compliance with GAAP and healthcare accounting standardsSupport HRSA grant accounting, allowable cost tracking, and reporting requirementsMonitor compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and internal financial policiesAssist with preparation of Uniform Data System (UDS) financial componentsSupport Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and related reconciliationsServe as key support for annual financial audits, single audits, and HRSA site visitsLead annual 401(k) audit, census preparation, and review, working with external consultants and auditors to finalize draft 5500 form and annual 401(k) financial statementsCoordinate with cross-functional departments to compile required documentation for annual filings and support management review of IRS Form 990 prior to board approval.Maintain documentation to support internal controls and audit readinessAssist in designing, documenting, and maintaining strong internal controlsIdentify process inefficiencies and recommend improvementsSupport system enhancements and automation effortsDevelop, mentor, and provide guidance/oversight to accounting staff as assigned, including timely feedback and annual reviewsConsistently provides effective and timely communication to the Director of Finance regarding month-end activities and projectsPartner with HR, Operations, Grants, and Clinical Leadership on financial mattersWrite, update, and develop financial policies and proceduresServe as a backup to the Director of Finance as neededPerforms other duties as assignedEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting or finance required5+ years of progressive accounting experience (healthcare or nonprofit preferred)Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requiredExperience supporting audits and financial close cycles required3+ years management experience requiredCPA or CPA-eligible preferredExperience in an FQHC, nonprofit healthcare, or grant-funded environment preferredFamiliarity with HRSA, UDS, Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting preferredExperience with healthcare EHR/financial systems and payroll integration preferredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCommunicates financial information effectively to non-finance staffMaintains confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel dataAbility to analyze complex financial and grant dataIntermediate to advanced proficiency of ERP systems and ExcelIntermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.Critical thinker who solves problems and makes sound decisionsWORKING CONDITIONSMust have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally for meetings and events, when requiredRegularly sit while working on the computer; use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; repeat the same movements when entering data; ability to differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness; read from a computer screen for extended periods of timeFrequently stand and walk around the office to gather supplies, required to do filing, use office equipment, or collaborate with employeesOccasionally stand, stoop and lift or move objects, equipment and supplies weighing approximately 20-25 pounds up to 40-50 poundsThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderateNeighborhood Health Center Employment Offers are contingent on successful completion of reference checks, background checks, drug screening for illegal substances, Tuberculosis, and any position specific credentialing or licensure requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr Neighborhood-Health-Center
