Dispatcher - Tanker Transportation


Pay Rate: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Location: Paulsboro
Schedule: Full-Time
Overtime Required as Needed

Position Summary


We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our transportation team. This position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling tanker drivers, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups, maintaining communication with drivers and customers, and supporting daily logistics operations.


The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and be willing to work overtime to support business demands.

Essential Responsibilities

• Dispatch and coordinate tanker drivers to meet customer delivery and pickup requirements.
• Monitor driver routes, schedules, and available equipment to maximize efficiency.
• Communicate with drivers throughout the day regarding delivery schedules, route changes, delays, and customer needs.
• Coordinate load assignments and ensure compliance with company procedures and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and operational reports.
• Track shipment progress and proactively address service issues.
• Work closely with customers, drivers, terminal personnel, and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Verify load information, delivery documentation, and transportation details.
• Monitor hours of service and assist in maintaining DOT compliance.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Assist with after-hours and emergency dispatch needs when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, or trucking industry experience preferred.
• Tanker transportation experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and transportation management systems.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
