ICU Registered Nurse (RN)The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing high-acuity care to patients with complex medical conditions. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and a willingness to float to different units as needed.Unit InformationNumber of Beds: 8A - 12 beds; 8B - 13 bedsPatient Ratios: 1:2 and occasionally 1:1Common Diagnoses: Heart and lung transplants, LVAD patients, valve surgeriesResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting.Titrate vasoactive drips for cardiac patients.Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists on patient management.Participate in the orientation of new staff members.Utilize advanced equipment, including CRRT, Impella, IABP, and LVAD devices.QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience in a busy hospital environment.Previous travel nursing experience preferred.Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.Experience with CRRT is preferred; training provided for the right candidate.Working ConditionsShifts: 12-hour shifts, scheduled based on unit needs.Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.Holiday Requirement: Flexible with any holidays they are willing to work.Floating Policy: First to float out based on competency.Additional InformationDaily parking fees apply, with multiple options for on/off-campus parking.Unit-specific orientation will be provided over 2-3 shifts with a preceptor.Monitor techs and respiratory therapists are available 24/7 in the unit.Registered Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting cardiac strips.Join a team dedicated to providing exceptional care in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
