Sonata Lake Mary Wellness Associate
The Wellness Associate reports to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager and provides services and care to each resident based on the individual resident service plan. Essential functions include assisting residents with activities of daily living, maintaining awareness of each resident's general state of physical and mental health, keeping an inventory of medical supplies, assisting with shift coverage, developing and helping maintain assignments for the wellness director, assisting in orienting and on-boarding of new wellness associates, responding to resident emergencies, providing first-aid and arranging for appropriate medical follow-up, assisting residents in keeping their units clean, neat, and orderly, answering calls for assistance and attending to resident needs promptly, assisting residents with clothing and laundry needs if instructed to do so, assisting residents with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned, assisting with activity programs as assigned, maintaining records according to policy, maintaining files as needed, participating in a minimum of 6 hours in-service education per year, carrying out other duties as assigned, following all emergency procedures, understanding all safety policies and procedures, communicating effectively with wellness director and other staff, immediately advising the wellness director and/or wellness manager of any changes in physical and mental health of resident, having current state nurse's aide registration, having experience and passion in working with seniors, being able to perform tasks which may be physically demanding such as pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds, maintaining positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members, being in good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases, being physically able to bend and reach, being physically able to push and pull and lift up to 60 pounds at times, being physically able to stand for extended periods of time, being able to use a hoyer lift, being required to work weekends and holidays as assigned, being required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired, being required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day), being subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and hepatitis B and C viruses, being subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents due to mental status, undergoing background, criminal, and drug tests, being asked to submit to random drug test during employment, having their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising, and being video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments.
