Position Title: Clinical Lab Director Department/School: Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, & Nursing Programs,School of Science Salary/Pay Rate: $80,000 - $85,000 Job Summary: The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Physician Assistant (PA), anddeveloping Nursing programs at Marist University seek a highlyqualified individual to serve as the Clinical Laboratory Director.This position provides operational, educational, and researchleadership for the university’s biomechanics and simulation needs,supporting the instructional and scholarly missions of the healthprofessions programs. Working collaboratively with faculty acrossdisciplines, the Director coordinates laboratory resources, ensuresthe effective functioning of research and teaching spaces, andsupports the delivery of high-quality educational experiences thatmeet accreditation standards. The Director also oversees laboratoryoperations and staff, maintains equipment and facility readiness,facilitates data collection and analysis, and contributes toongoing faculty research initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher in Biomechanics or related field,Engineering (biomedical or mechanical) or Computer Science, HealthSciences, Healthcare Education, Healthcare Admin, MedicalEducation, Nursing (MSN), Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS,MSPAS), Physical Therapy Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing clinical, teaching,research, or simulation laboratories in a higher education,healthcare, or research setting Essential Functions: Direct and oversee the daily operations, scheduling, andresource allocation of simulation, instructional, research, andlaboratory facilities supporting the Doctor of Physical Therapy,Physician Assistant, and Nursing programs to ensure efficient,safe, and effective utilization. Supervise laboratory staff, student employees, and assistants;provide training, consultation, and technical support to faculty,staff, and students regarding laboratory equipment, simulationtechnologies, safety procedures, biomechanical systems, andresearch methodologies. Collaborate with faculty to develop, implement, facilitate, andevaluate simulation and laboratory-based learning experiences thatsupport program learning outcomes, accreditation standards, andstudent competency development. Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies,procedures, and safety protocols; ensure compliance withinstitutional, professional, regulatory, and accreditationrequirements; and maintain accurate records, reports, inventories,and assessment documentation. Manage laboratory and simulation equipment, technology, andsoftware, including procurement, setup, calibration, maintenance,troubleshooting, inventory control, vendor coordination, andbudget-related purchasing activities to maintain operationalreadiness. Provide technical, operational, and analytical support forfaculty and student research activities, including biomechanicalanalysis, participant testing, data acquisition, data management,protocol implementation, and research-related reporting anddissemination. Analyze, organize, and communicate research andlaboratory data through reports, presentations, and other scholarlyor administrative formats. Advance laboratory, simulation, and research capabilities byevaluating emerging technologies, educational methodologies, andresearch practices; supporting program assessment efforts; andrecommending improvements to facilities, services, andoperations. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with simulation technologies, includinghigh-fidelity manikins, standardized patient programs, audiovisualcapture systems, scenario development, and simulationoperations. Experience operating and maintaining biomechanics and humanmovement analysis equipment, such as motion capture systems, forceplates, electromyography (EMG) systems, and/or wearable sensors andgait analysis technology.
