Family Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioner Position

Provide direct patient care and manage caseload of adolescent and adult psychiatric patients from a family/primary care perspective in partnership with THIRA's psychiatric prescribers and all other medical personnel.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Licensed prescriber in State of Washington with active DEA registration
  • Two years (2) minimum experience as a nurse practitioner (residency year experience may apply)
  • Prior experience as a family nurse practitioner experience
  • One-year minimum required experience administering medications, including knowledge in substance abuse treatment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to use various software programs
  • Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (Federal and state)
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends & holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in Residential IOP, PHP
  • Experience working with eating disorders

PATIENT CARE

  • Conduct physical exams to check patient health; order and interpret tests such as CMP, CBC and other routine tests.
  • Review patient medical histories, diagnose, conduct appropriate treatment, and prescribe medication when needed
  • Conduct weekly patient follow up exams and document patient progress
  • Collaborate with attending Psychiatrist/Medical Director and multidisciplinary clinical team to create treatment plans and implement recommendations
  • Conduct coordination of care with patients outside providers
  • Communicate with outside providers and patient family members regarding medical/medication information as needed
  • Provide phone-based on-call support to staff and/or patients as needed (based on on-call rotation)
  • Support in utilization review of all patients and interface with third-party payers to advocate for patient reauthorizations
  • Follow up on any medical/medication related issues as needed
  • Provide medical support as needed across all of THIRA's programs (PHP, IOP & Residential)
  • Maintain infection control standards within our facility
  • Provide medical support as needed across all the programs inclusive of residential program

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
  • Maintain focus on THIRA's core principles, priorities, and patient-centered culture
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of staff, visitors, healthcare professionals, marketers, and the public in a professional, sensitive, and interpersonal manner

Working Environment

Work is performed primarily indoors, with both artificial and natural lighting. Equipment includes standard office equipment, i.e., computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, printer, and scanner. Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, bending over, repetitive use of hands, and lifting up to 25lbs. Position requires close contact with all THIRA Health staff and mental health patients. Hours and days can vary within a Saturday through Friday work week.
