PET/CT Technologist

About the Position RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team as a full‑time position working varied shifts Monday through Saturday. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (90%) Patient PET/CT Imaging Screen patients before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure. Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately. Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions for physicians, providing patient support throughout the procedure. Adjust PET/CT scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques. Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, associates, and peers. Follow physicians' orders precisely and adhere to safety regulations. Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Maintain a clean work area, promoting safety habits. Maintain the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements. Keep equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect after each use. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines. Assess, prepare, record and administer radiopharmaceuticals per Nuclear Regulatory Commission or state regulations and departmental policies. Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients. Demonstrate safety‑related work behaviors to ensure safe performance and environment. Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer. (5%) PET/CT Department Support Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades. Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary. Assist with training of new associates, providing resources and technical expertise. Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines. Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC or state regulations. (5%) Completes other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing. Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the applicable state, if applicable. Current CPR certification. Training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently. Certification in imaging specialty. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual. ARRT certification in CT. NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
