We serve children and families in the metro New York area (all 5 boroughs of NYC, Hudson Valley, Long Island and Albany), Virginia/DC area, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut and Delaware. Job Responsibilities For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over. Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings. Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner Prepare progress reports as per program timelines Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines Requirements For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher Must have a passion for working with children and families! One of the following NYS certifications/licenses: Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional Permanent Special Education Certification Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism. Additional Qualifications Fluency in a language other than English is a plus! Physical Requirements Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to: Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train. The ability to ascend and descend staircases. The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly. The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time. Starting Rate hourly $70.00. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Special Education Itinerant Teacher interview process.
