Position: Leasing Consultant Category: Non-Exempt (Hourly) – $18.00 plus commission Supervisor: Community Manager Hours: Typical range based on community needs; may require weekends and after-hours emergency services. Full time: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (average 40 hours). Physical Demands: Light (occasional up to 25 pounds) – climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, etc. Drug Screens: Pre‑employment, post‑injury, reasonable suspicion, and possible random screens. As a Leasing Consultant, you will showcase our apartments to prospective residents and help turn their housing dreams into reality. Strong verbal and written communication, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with on‑site staff, residents, supervisors, corporate associates, and vendors. Proficient in English; bilingual candidates encouraged. Interpret legal documents, manage rent collections, and oversee lease compliance. Intermediate math skills for financial reporting, budgeting, and record‑keeping (percentages, decimals, fractions). Knowledge of property operations, emphasizing lease terms, contract enforcement, and collections. General Summary of Associate Responsibility Provides comprehensive support across all facets of community operations, working closely with and under the guidance of the Community Manager. Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior sales experience encouraged. Responsibilities Residential Standards Respond to resident inquiries. Conduct tours and lease apartment homes. Engage in ongoing leasing training. Perform additional tasks as needed. Urban Village Program Responsibilities Building Community Work closely with your Program Coordinator to distribute and display our Urban Village Newsletter throughout the community. Engage with residents, fueling excitement about upcoming events and fostering community participation. Enhancing Environments Champion the use of garden boxes and beehives within your community (if applicable), promoting a greener, more sustainable environment. Join our annual Impact Day to tackle community enhancement projects together. Channeling Resources Forge connections with vendors and potential partners, establishing communication channels to support community needs. Keep your Program Coordinator informed by sharing relevant information and potential collaboration contacts. Building Leaders Educate residents about the program and inspire involvement as resident facilitators, empowering them to take on leadership roles. Guide interested residents through the sign‑up process, nurturing the next generation of community leaders.
