Learn more at and on LinkedIn and Twitter (X).We are seeking a highly skilled Navigation & PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) Expert to lead the design, development, integration, and validation of advanced navigation systems. Utilizing ADI’s extensive RF portfolio and expertise in software defined radio’s, MEMS Inertial(s) and AI, this role will develop and lead the strategy and executions to “move-up-the-stack” to a complete navigation solution for defense, commercial and space applications. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep expertise in GNSS, inertial sensors, sensor fusion, timing systems, and navigation algorithm development, with a strong ability to translate system needs into reliable real-world solutions bringing a proven ability to execute a plan with urgency. The selected candidate can work remotely out of a home office.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop PNT solutions, including GNSS-based systems, inertial navigation, vision-based navigation, and multi-sensor fusion architectures.Analyze and improve positioning, navigation, and timing performance under diverse operational environments (e.g., GNSS-denied, urban canyon, RF-challenged).Develop, tune, and validate navigation algorithms, including Kalman filters, tightly/loosely coupled fusion, integrity monitoring, and error-state modeling.Model and simulate PNT systems to predict performance, assess sensor trade-offs, and support system design decisions.Conduct GNSS signal analysis, including interference, spoofing detection, multipath characterization, and resilience enhancement.Lead integration and testing in laboratory and field environments using representative sensors and platforms.Support system architecture development, providing expert input on PNT requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, autonomy, guidance & control, and systems engineering.Document and communicate findings, presenting test results, performance analyses, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.10+ years of experience in PNT, navigation systems, or related domains.Strong understanding of:GNSS (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou) and augmentation systems (SBAS, RTK, PPP)Inertial sensors (IMUs), magnetometers, barometers, wheel odometry, etc.Navigation and sensor-fusion algorithms (EKF/UKF, error-state filtering, SLAM)Timing systems (oscillators, synchronization, clock modeling)Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++, ROS).Experience with real-world data collection, calibration, and system testing.Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills.US Citizenship requiredPreferred QualificationsExperience with GNSS-denied navigation (vision, lidar, RF, UWB, pseudolites).Experience with autonomous vehicles, aerospace, robotics, defense, or maritime navigation.Knowledge of signal processing, RF systems, or GNSS receiver internals.Familiarity with certification or compliance standards (e.g., DO-229, DO-253, RCTA/DO-178, ISO 26262).Experience developing resilient PNT systems, including anti-jamming and anti-spoofing techniques.#LI-PG1For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
