Commercial Equipment Delivery Driver

Drives a light vehicle, such as a truck or van, delivering commercial equipment and furniture to accomplish move projects to offices, industrial sites, laboratories.

Responsibilities

1. Drives a 26'ft straight truck and crew members to and from customer's residence with packing materials and crates.
2. Actively participates in moving materials, equipment, furniture and managing packing and crating of valuables and hard-to-move items.
3. Responsible for accurate and complete transactions on all paperwork; securing signatures, collection of payment, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
4. Maintains clean driving record and abides by all laws governing vehicle safety.
5. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips, submits report indicating truck condition.
6. Executes activities as assigned by Dispatch, immediately reporting any routing or service changes encountered.
7. Responsible for transport of commercial equipment and furniture from origin to destination.
8. Manages on-site crews to ensure efficient packing of household good items and effective service and delivery to clients and homeowners.
9. Prepare inventories of household goods items when necessary for items to be shipped.
10. Routinely involves lifting, movement and placement of heavy items by hand or with the assistance of material handling equipment (hand-truck or dolly).
11. Acts as liaison with customer service reps, dispatch, and warehouse staff to meet Company's obligations to the client.
12. Submit paperwork to Dispatchers to validate crew man-hours and report any incidents.
13. Represents the Company in a professional manner.
14. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.

Qualifications

• Active Driver's license (Non-CDL)
• Candidate must pass a DOT physical, background investigation, and pre-employment drug screening.
• Prior Moving and storage or furniture delivery experience is a plus.
• Experience as a crew leader or supervisor a plus.
• 1+ year of experience driving a 26ft box truck/straight truck commercial vehicle.
• Candidate must have good communication skills and be able to lift up to 75 pounds on routine basis.
• Reliable, punctual and available for flexible work schedules.
• Capable of lifting up to 80lbs
