We are seeking an experienced plaintiff-side employment litigation attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who already understands plaintiff-side employment litigation and is ready for greater case ownership, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to take cases through trial.

In addition to a base salary we offer matter-based bonuses tied to a percentage of the firm's net attorney fees on qualifying matters independently handled by the attorney, along with profit sharing and other benefits.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of cases and develop strategy while also benefiting from the backing of experienced attorneys and a supportive legal team.

What You'll Do

As a member of our litigation team, you will have substantial responsibility for plaintiff-side employment matters from litigation through resolution or trial.

Your responsibilities will include:

Independently manage plaintiff-side employment cases and maintain responsibility for moving matters efficiently toward resolution or trial.

Develop litigation and case strategy for claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour violations, and other employee rights.

Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, mediation briefs, trial briefs, and other substantive legal documents.

Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.

Develop and execute written discovery strategies and analyze evidence to build strong cases.

Research and analyze employment law, procedural issues, evidentiary matters, and developing legal authority.

Prepare clients and witnesses for deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial.

Work with experts and other professionals as appropriate.

Handle mediations and negotiate settlements with the goal of achieving excellent outcomes for our clients.

Prepare cases for trial, including developing trial strategy, preparing witnesses and exhibits, addressing evidentiary issues, and presenting persuasive arguments.

Appear at hearings and other court proceedings.

Maintain regular communication with clients and provide thoughtful, practical legal counsel throughout the litigation process.

Collaborate with our attorneys and legal staff while maintaining meaningful ownership of assigned matters.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school.

Active California Bar membership in good standing.

At least 3 years of litigation experience.

Prior plaintiff-side employment law experience.

Substantive experience handling employment claims such as wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour violations, or related employee-rights matters.

Experience managing significant aspects of litigation rather than solely supporting other attorneys.

Experience taking and defending depositions.

Strong written discovery, legal research, and motion practice skills.

Experience with mediation and settlement negotiations.

Ability to evaluate cases, develop litigation strategy, manage deadlines, and move cases toward resolution or trial.

Excellent legal writing, analytical, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills.

Strong judgment, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters.

A genuine commitment to representing employees and protecting workplace rights

Highly Valued, But Not Required

First- or second-chair trial experience.

Arbitration experience.

Experience independently managing plaintiff-side employment cases from filing through settlement, arbitration, or trial.

Spanish fluency.

You do not need to have first-chaired multiple jury trials to be considered. We are interested in strong plaintiff-side employment litigators who have developed solid litigation skills and are ready to take the next step into greater case ownership and trial responsibility.
