Senior Trial Attorney (Warrendale)

Responsibilities

• Represent ERIE and its insureds in civil litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
• Assess liability arguments and damages presented and offer timely insights and recommendations to support effective claims resolution.
• Collaborate with claims professionals, experts, and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management and consistent legal strategy.
• Conduct discovery; take depositions; prepare witnesses for testimony; draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other court filings; and attend court hearings, pretrial conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations and trials.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance litigation and trial advocacy skills.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
• Ten years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, required.
• Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in Pennsylvania, required.
• Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in the Federal Courts in Pennsylvania, preferred.
• Some periodic or overnight travel required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
