Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Product Designer who will be responsible for providing accurate and timely product designs using SolidWorks 3D software. The role involves designing based on customer specifications and custom quotes, as well as developing new products and improving existing equipment. You will ensure cost-effective designs and act as a liaison between fabrication and assembly to resolve any issues that arise.
Responsibilities

• Create accurate and timely product designs using SolidWorks 3D software.
• Design products based on customer specifications and custom quotes.
• Develop new products and continuously improve existing equipment designs.
• Consider cost-effectiveness in all design processes.
• Serve as a liaison between fabrication and assembly to resolve any issues.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and other 3D CAD software.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Drafting, Design, or Mechanical/Ag Engineering.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience, preferably in automotive or agricultural vehicles.
• Experience in 3D modeling and design, including school projects or internships.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with sheet metal products is highly preferred.
• 2D and 3D design skills, ideally with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• A passion for working on cars, fixing things, and engine repair.

Work Environment
The position is located at the Aluminum plant in Quincy, within a large and modern product development team. The facility houses about 3000 employees and includes both manufacturing and assembly sites. The team comprises approximately 70 professionals, including detailers, drafters, designers, project engineers, supervisors, and support services. Dining options are available onsite, and there are local options nearby. The company is family-oriented, with a rich history spanning over 150 years, fostering a positive workplace atmosphere with low turnover.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quincy, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $28.84/hr.
