Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Trial Attorney in Chicago, IL, to manage complex litigation matters and advocate for clients seeking maximum compensation for damages. The ideal candidate will combine strong legal acumen with exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and achieve favorable outcomes through negotiation or trial.

Duties

• Meet with clients to discuss case details, demonstrating empathy and earning their confidence and respect.
• Communicate regularly with clients and insurance companies regarding claim status, demands, and settlement offers.
• Prepare cases for trial and serve as first chair during jury trials when necessary.
• Evaluate claims and leverage superb negotiation skills to resolve matters efficiently.

Requirements

• Must be a member of the Illinois Bar and in good standing.
• Possess six or more years of litigation experience.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
• Exhibit strong team-oriented values while maintaining professional autonomy.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois.

Skills

• Experience with five or more jury trials as first chair is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate claims and navigate complex legal landscapes.
