Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Operations

Location: Miramar, FL (Travel throughout Miami-Dade County required)
Position Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Salary: $70,000–$75,000 annually, DOE (Depending on Experience)
Reports To: Executive Director

Big Ideas Educational Services is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Operations to build the organization's people strategy during an exciting period of growth.

Position Summary
The Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Operations is a key member of the leadership team responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization's entire talent lifecycle.

This individual will lead recruitment, onboarding, employee experience, talent development, and organizational culture while building the infrastructure needed to support Big Ideas' continued growth.
The successful candidate will think strategically while also rolling up their sleeves to execute. They will help create the systems, processes, and relationships that position Big Ideas as an employer of choice throughout South Florida.

What You'll Build
Talent Acquisition Strategy

• Develop and lead Big Ideas' year-round recruitment strategy.
• Build sustainable talent pipelines for leadership, instructional, administrative, and seasonal positions.
• Recruit professionals who align with the mission, values, and culture of Big Ideas.
• Develop partnerships with colleges, universities, educator preparation programs, Teach For America, and community organizations.
• Strengthen Big Ideas' employer brand across multiple recruiting platforms.
• Create innovative recruiting campaigns that attract exceptional candidates.
• Build succession plans and leadership pipelines for future organizational growth.

Recruitment & Hiring

• Manage all recruitment efforts through BambooHR, ADP, LinkedIn, Indeed, and additional recruiting platforms.
• Write compelling job postings that attract mission-aligned candidates.
• Source active and passive candidates using multiple recruiting strategies.
• Screen applicants and conduct first-round interviews.
• Coordinate hiring managers and interview teams.
• Manage interview scheduling and candidate communications.
• Conduct reference checks and oversee pre-employment processes.
• Coordinate background screenings and employment documentation.
• Build recruiting dashboards and hiring metrics for executive leadership.

People Operations

• Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding experience for all employees.
• Coordinate new employee orientation and organizational onboarding.
• Develop onboarding systems that prepare employees for long-term success.
• Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
• Conduct exit interviews and identify organizational trends.
• Maintain personnel records and hiring compliance.
• Support leadership with performance management and employee development initiatives.
• Ensure hiring and onboarding practices comply with organizational policies and employment regulations.

Organizational Development

• Build scalable hiring systems that support continued organizational growth.
• Develop interview guides, hiring scorecards, and standardized selection processes.
• Recommend improvements to staffing models and organizational structure.
• Develop workforce planning strategies with executive leadership.
• Continuously improve hiring quality, candidate experience, and employee retention.
• Help shape and strengthen the culture of Big Ideas Educational Services.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Education, or a related field.
• Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting, Human Resources, or People Operations.
• Demonstrated success designing and implementing recruiting strategies and hiring systems.
• Experience recruiting for leadership, professional, and multiple concurrent positions.
• Experience developing onboarding and employee engagement programs.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), including BambooHR, ADP, or similar platforms.
• Strong interviewing, communication, relationship-building, and networking skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred

• Experience working within nonprofit organizations or educational environments.
• Experience supporting organizational growth and change.
• Knowledge of Florida employment practices.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar professional certification.
