Food Service Supervisor I

Job Title

Under the direction of the Food Manager, Dietetics Assistant Director, Dietetics Director and Staff Services Manager I, responsible for supervising and instructing employees and helpers from the client population in serving meals, and cleaning and maintaining work areas, equipment, and utensils; may instruct, lead, or supervise patients, clients, or resident workers, and do other related work.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave Program.

Temporary state housing may be available for those relocating to fill hard to recruit positions. Housing assignments and rates will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only. Individuals who are not eligible to take DDS-Porterville Developmental Center's promotional exam must take and pass CalVet's servicewide, open Food Service Supervisor I examination.
