Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care in emergency settings. This position requires a commitment to patient safety and excellence in acute care management, with an emphasis on rapid assessment and intervention in critical situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and implementation of care.
• Respond to emergency situations promptly and competently.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and modify care plans.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, utilizing electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  
  
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required from an approved vendor.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required at the time of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Required at the time of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification: Required within one year of hire.
• Competency Requirements:
  
  
  • Demonstrated competency in Dysrhythmia during orientation for all departments, except for Obstetrics and NICU.
  • Demonstrated competency in IV Sedation within six months of hire.

Shift Requirements

This position will require working night shifts, with a commitment to a schedule of 36-48 hours as needed.

Additional Information

Candidates must possess EPIC experience to be considered for this role. All certifications must be maintained throughout employment, and ongoing education is encouraged to ensure compliance with the latest healthcare standards.
