Information Systems Auditor

Role Snapshot Information Systems Auditors in the Division of State Audit help ensure the technology behind state government is effective and secure. In this role, you will evaluate information systems, cybersecurity controls, data integrity, and technology-driven processes that support state government operations. By identifying risks, assessing compliance, and recommending improvements, you will help strengthen accountability and safeguard public resources. Prepare neat, concise, logical, and well-supported working papers that comply with auditing standards and best practices. Conduct high-quality data analyses that support audit conclusions. Communicate clearly with stakeholders such as the General Assembly. Identify opportunities for innovation and increased efficiency to support the office’s mission. Professionally represent the Comptroller’s Office and use auditee time effectively. What We're Looking For Required Bachelor’s degree in accounting, computer information systems, computer science, information security, or data analytics Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, accuracy, and ability to learn quickly Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions Preferred Coursework in computer information systems, information security, computer science, or data analytics CPA or CISA (strongly encouraged but not required) Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Logistics Travel: Occasional overnight travel is required within the state. The frequency varies by assignment and business need, but employee preference is considered.
