Description

1. Ensure that safety standards and sanitation procedures are observed and maintained in all food service areas.
2. Operate various food preparation equipment such as grills, choppers, fryers, mixers, or blenders.
3. Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen, dining room, and equipment.
4. Notify the Food Service Director when repairs to facilities and equipment are needed.
5. Assist in the production and serving of meals.
6. Prepare travel meals when necessary.
7. Assist in preparation of meals for ill or otherwise absent students.
8. Assist in the inventory process of the food, equipment, and other items within the department.
9. Other duties as assigned, based upon the needs of the school or department.

Qualifications

1. Possess the ability to demonstrate the necessary concepts of sanitation and food safety. May be asked to acquire ServSafe certification.
2. Ability to serve and interact with the MLS students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a positive demeanor reflective of good customer service.
3. Previous foodservice experience is beneficial, but not required.
