With the variety of dietary needs our patients and residents have, employees that thrive as a Cook are great communicators, keep a sanitary culinary work environment, and are proficient with their reading and writing skills.Responsibilities:Prepares and provides the highest quality and safest food possibleFollows standardized recipes and guidelines for cooks to prepare, store and use foodMaintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machineryPerforms washing and cleaning duties to insure sanitationOperates equipment such as mixers, slicers, kettles, ovens, food grinders, and moreQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to read, write and follow oral and written directionsAbility to perform basic mathMinimum of six months of applicable experience preferredOn-the-job training will be providedDepending upon location of hire, Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frameAdditional endorsements to Serv Safe may be required depending upon locationFulfill annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory in-servicesBasic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending upon location requirementsDepending on location, may be required to driveValid Driver's License may be required
