Qualifications 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing from a state accredited school (Required) 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) Work Experience 1+ years Nursing Experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license Standards of Nursing Practice Provide professional standards in practicing nursing. Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues. Identifies the expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives for expected outcomes. Implements the identified plan. Evaluates the progress toward attainment of outcomes. Standards of Professional Performance Provide assistance to patients and visitors when administering care. Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice. Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Collaborate with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Provide leadership in the professional practice setting. Maintain confidentiality. RN – Leadership Direct the coordination of care across setting and among caregivers. Engage in teamwork as a team player and a team builder. Serve in key roles at work through shared decision making. Define a clear vision including goals and plans and measure progress. Promote nursing through participation in professional organizations. Care Planning and Implementation Develop an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses. Provide for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team. Implement the plan in a safe and timely manner. Document implementation and include changes or omissions of the identified plan. Consult with healthcare providers and make referrals as appropriate. Utilize appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan. Care Processes Treat patients and families with compassion and implement plan of care. Base care decisions on plan of care. Monitor and document patient response. Establish rapport with clients. Adapt communication style, listen and respond to patient needs. Recognize age‑specific responses to treatment. Provide effective interventions. Respect patients confidentiality and privacy. Support social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families. Manage difficult or emotional patient situations. Documentation Document and submit required information and data in a timely fashion. Clearly and accurately document designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc. Ensure that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users. Use correct terminology. Conform to required style and format. RN – Nursing ANA Code of Ethics Accountable for individual practice and delegation to provide optimum care. Practice with compassion and respect. Primary commitment is to advocate for the patient, family and community. Assure patient safety through competency and growth of self and others. Contribute to a healthy work environment through shared decision making. Collaborate with other health professionals to meet healthcare need. RN – Quality Use the results of quality improvement activities in nursing practice. Use creativity and innovation in nursing practice to improve care delivery. Incorporate evidence based knowledge to initiate change in nursing practice. Participate in quality improvement activities. Additional Duties Adhere to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization. Perform other duties as required and complete all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self‑education, attend ongoing educational programs). Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in‑services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrate competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
