Summary This Program Support Assistant, PSA, position is in the office of Home Telehealth (HT). The PSA, works closely with the HT CNM or designee by managing, directing, overseeing and administering numerous complex technical, administrative, and analytical functions, managing communication and coordination of clinical/operational services to meet department objectives related to HT, care coordination and other programs under the supervision of the HT CNM. Responsibilities Remote Patient Monitoring - Home Telehealth Program Support Assistant (PSA) This Program Support Assistant, PSA position is assigned to the Home Telehealth (HT) unit under Office of Deputy Chief of Staff. The position reports directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) of HT, who reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, Arizona.The Home Telehealth program is seeking a Program Support Assistant to provide administrative and operational support for the coordination of Veteran care services. The incumbent supports daily program functions, assists with Veteran communication and scheduling, manages alerts and consult tracking, and maintains accurate electronic records. Duties include but are not limited to: Provide administrative and programmatic support to the HT team to ensure efficient daily operations and continuity of Veteran care services. Monitor and manage program alerts, consultations, and workload assignments. Maintain accurate documentation and data entry within electronic systems while ensuring completeness and compliance with documentation requirements. Assist with equipment coordination, inventory tracking, and reporting needs. Support timely workflow completion to promote efficient Veteran care delivery. Supports clinical staff by preparing reports, gathering data, monitoring performance metrics, and assisting with program audits and quality improvement initiatives. Serve as ADPAC support for Telehealth staff, including coordination of technical and access-related requests, as assigned. Ensure adherence to privacy, information security, and VA policies related to patient information and telehealth services. Supports supply management activities including ordering office supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring availability of program resources, as assigned. Provide timekeeping support and assist with timecard review and related administrative processes, as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/10/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Preferred Experience: Experience coordinating patient appointments, consult management, scheduling activities. Experience utilizing electronic health record and maintaining accurate documentation. Experience providing customer service and communicating effectively with Veterans, caregivers, interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage competing deadlines, and independently organize work in a fast- paced environment. Knowledge of privacy, information security requirements, and handling sensitive patient information. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support; coordinating patient appointments, utilizing electronic health records and maintaining accurate documentation, and demonstrating knowledge of privacy, information security requirements, and handling sensitive patient information, providing information and customer service.
