Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us.Who We're Looking for: We're looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting to join Rover's accounting team. This individual-contributor role owns a broad, hands-on scope of our core accounting processes including month-end close, financial reporting, technical accounting, and audit management. You'll operate as a subject-matter expert in your assigned areas, help develop and implement the policies and processes the broader team relies on, and be a technical resource across the department, all while maintaining the accuracy and integrity Rover's financial reporting depends on.This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.Your Responsibilities:Accounting Operations & CloseOwn month-end and year-end close deliverables for assigned areas of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysisIdentify and drive improvements to close processes, automation, and documentation, including under tight timelinesPrioritize across multiple close-cycle responsibilitiesFinancial ReportingPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules, including the statement of cash flows, for monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables in accordance with U.S. GAAPAssist with internal and external reporting deliverables, including materials for private equity stakeholdersMaintain consistency, accuracy, and audit-readiness across financial statements and reporting deliverablesTechnical SkillsServe as a subject-matter expert and go-to technical resource for assigned accounting areas, researching and documenting GAAP positions for complex or non-routine transactionsAssist with implementation of new accounting standards and policies as directedAudit & ComplianceServe as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing deliverables, schedules, and walkthroughs.Own execution and documentation of assigned internal controls, and help drive enhancements to the control environmentEnsure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies across your areas of responsibilityCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with FP&A, Tax, and other cross-functional teams on accounting matters within scope.Mentor and guide peers and junior team members on technical and process questions, including areas outside your direct responsibility.Support in scaling accounting processes and infrastructure, proactively surfacing new projects and improvementsYour Qualifications: 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experienceBS/BA in Accounting preferredCPA preferred or actively in progressStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reportingExperience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment preferredDemonstrated experience with financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end closeExperience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesEffective communicator with ability to work cross-functionallyBenefits of Working at Rover.com Competitive compensation401k matchLong-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payoutFlexible PTOCompetitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insuranceCommuter benefitsBring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)Pet benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog or catStocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches monthly Regular team activities performed in-person and virtuallyCompensation: In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $108,694-136,046.
