Anesthesia Technician

The Anesthesia Technician provides critical support to anesthesia care teams by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting with patient care during anesthesia, and ensuring the availability and functionality of specialized anesthesia tools. This role involves direct collaboration with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and residents in various surgical settings, including advanced and emergency procedures. The technician also participates in equipment maintenance, staff training, and on-call coverage to ensure seamless anesthesia services. Responsibilities:

• Prepare anesthesia equipment and monitors prior to patient arrival and ensure cleanliness and readiness throughout procedures.
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters.
• Operate the cell-saver machine and manage lab reports during complex surgical cases such as cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma surgeries.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on anesthesia equipment including infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors.
• Set up anesthesia equipment and supplies for cases and ensure availability for out-of-OR procedures.
• Assist in the development and delivery of in-service training programs for anesthesia technologists.
• Provide backup support to the shift supervisor as needed.
• Collaborate continuously with anesthesia care team members to meet clinical needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of two years' experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
• Proficient in equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively support anesthesia providers.

• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.
• Four-year college degree including technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must provide on-call coverage and be available for call back as needed.
• Work includes holidays and weekends.
• Position requires working in high-acuity surgical environments including trauma and transplant cases.

• Evening shift from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
• Shift assignments may include holidays, weekends, and on-call duties.
