Telecom Technician

As a Telecommunications Technician, you will apply your basic knowledge of all areas of telecommunications and perform maintenance on telecommunications equipment. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Respond to system and service outages Installation and wiring of routers/switches/firewalls along with coordinating with multiple groups for configuration and troubleshooting. Terminate copper and fiber cabling as needed to support network turnups and upgrades Physically connect to live DC power plant systems Effectively identify and utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments. Work on various other telecommunication systems and tasks when required my leadership This position can pay from $22-$28/hr. Working knowledge of fiber circuits, MPLS and other LAN/WAN data circuits Skilled in the termination and troubleshooting of various cabling types to include fiber, Knowledge of fiber terminations, data circuits, 48V and 135Vdc power plants. Experience with DC plant systems, LAN and wireless testing, fiber optic test equipment, and various cabling types. Familiarity with cable identification, terminating cables, and Channel Banks.
