Senior AccountantSenior Accountant is a senior level accounting position responsible for month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a high level of complexity. This is an accounting support position in a fast paced centralized accounting services environment providing financial services to community associations throughout North America. Candidates for this position must meet Associa's credit requirements.Full Accrual AccountingMonth-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a high level of complexityAble to perform departmental accounting functionsProcess and review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations with extensive investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferrals, accruals, payroll liabilities, and reservesDevelop amortization and depreciation schedulesDevelop and maintain supporting schedules and reports as requestedBudget development assistance and administrationPerform Year End closeSupport community Association Managers (CAM) and Branch Financial Accounting Support Person (FASP), and Association Board of Directors (BOD) as requestedWork with supporting departments (Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Data Management, Delinquency, Tax and Banking Team) on issue resolutionOccasional work on weekends may be requiredOther duties as assignedKnowledge and SkillsInternal company balancingAbility to interpret and apply industry related lawAble to manage multiple entities, meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detailDepartmental accounting functionsExperienced in budget development and implementationMicrosoft Office, ExcelGood written and verbal communication skillsComplete Control for Communities (C3) software, preferred but not requiredUnderstanding of, or experience in, the Community Association Management Industry, preferred but not requiredExperience working in an Accounting Shared Services Center environment, preferred but not requiredEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting and 5-years full-cycle accounting experience or Master's degree and 3-years full-cycle accounting experienceKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) guidelinesWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
