Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack - AI Applications

As a Staff Software Engineer at Ironclad, you'll work cross-functionally to identify business problems and architect, build, and verify solutions. You'll build a platform that lets lawyers scale themselves and their businesses 100x more effectively. AI Applications Team The AI Applications team’s mission is to build and expand the adoption of Ironclad AI-powered features to help Ironclad users increase efficiency and productivity across all stages of the contracting lifecycle - from create, review, negotiate, to sign, report and manage obligations. We are the team behind powerful features including AI Playbooks, AI Assist, Custom AI Clauses, Smart Import, Smart Detect, Smart Merge, and many more exciting things in the works. We are looking for a staff software engineer who is excited to work on translating cutting edge AI advancements into tangible and valuable products for our users. What you'll do: Be a key contributor to our product strategy and technical architecture for AI at Ironclad Keep track of all relevant AI advancements, and prototype new features and solutions to help assess their feasibility as needed Collaborate cross functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to spec, design, and build AI-powered features and systems Partner with quality engineers to define, build and maintain testing strategy Lead technical discussions, mentor and provide thoughtful feedback to other engineers on the team Grow your teams by interviewing and recruiting talented engineers to Ironclad Work on a modern stack built upon: TypeScript, ReactJS, Node.js, Java, and Docker containers in Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform (experience with these specific technologies not required) What we look for: At least 5+ years of software experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining complex systems (a formal degree is not required, we are prioritizing industry experience) Leadership across teams and a drive towards improving overall technical architecture and achieving company-wide goals Passion for software engineering to build and ship great product Hands-on experience with building AI-powered products, preferably evidence of shipping valuable products to production with real user feedback A high bar for quality Passionate about learning and sharing knowledge, with a particular thirst for AI advancements Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills Ironclad’s Values: drive, intent, integrity, and empathy Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401k Wellness reimbursement Take what you need vacation policy Generous parental leave for both primary and secondary caregivers Base Salary Range: $190,000 - $210,000 The base salary range represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
