Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Torrance, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $22-$25/hour, depending on experience, with opportunity for a pay increase based on performance.

About the Opportunity

A well-established manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years of accounting experience who is looking to grow their career in a stable organization with long-term potential.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Staff Accountant and support the day-to-day accounting operations while gaining exposure to additional accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently
• Generate customer invoices and manage accounts receivable collections
• Apply customer payments and reconcile outstanding balances
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end closing activities
• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding payment inquiries
• Support the accounting team with administrative and financial reporting tasks
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting experience
• Experience preparing journal entries
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience with any accounting or ERP software is a plus, but not required
• Manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain industry experience is preferred
