Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides skilled nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a Medical Surgical unit. Ensures high-quality patient outcomes through comprehensive assessment and care planning.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' physiological and psychological needs accurately and thoroughly.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of ancillary staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Perform direct nursing interventions using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Demonstrate leadership responsibilities by performing charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Comply with all hospital policies, including safety protocols and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California RN license with Nursys verification within the last 2 weeks.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Medical Surgical unit.
• Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CA-specific licenses.
• Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment and care documentation.
• Exhibit strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Be able to work night shifts (3x12 hours) with flexibility for holiday and holiday RTO requests.
