Duties

Help

• Conducts financial and budgetary planning, programming, and analysis for the HQ-USACE Dam and Levee Safety Risk Management Programs.
• Manages funding, tracks execution, and resolves complex issues related to funding and appropriations for dam and levee safety initiatives.
• Applies management principles to ensure resources are optimally funded to meet national Dam and Levee Risk Management Program mission requirements.
• Evaluates funding resources, forecasts and makes periodic and quarterly assessments on the execution of each program, and provides guidance to subordinate activities.
• Develops positions on the appropriate use of funds, interprets policy, provides guidance, and defends Dam and Levee Safety programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1. Analyzing financial or budgetary data to assess program funding requirements and execution. 2. Managing program funds in accordance with applicable appropriations, policies, or funding priorities. 3. Advising management on budgetary, financial, or resource management matters.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

• This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
