Job Description The Mechanical Maintenance Technician Lead works alongside and guides the Maintenance Technicians in their daily routines and duties as needed. At times, they will work independently performing maintenance activities. Along with the Instrument & Controls Lead, this position prioritizes preventative maintenance and other repair activities. This role maintains and leads the shift to the highest standard regarding professional attitude toward work and safety. Ensures that equipment, machinery, general repairs, installation of new equipment/systems and preventative maintenance programs are carried out efficiently and properly. Key Characteristics: Ability to apply to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form Ability and willingness to read documents and implement such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Accountable, reliable and thorough Computer proficient Leadership traits and skills Problem solving skills Key Responsibilities: Assists and works alongside the Maintenance Technicians in performing proper diagnosis of any malfunctioning machinery, general repairs, installing new equipment and systems and preventative maintenance programs on all assigned machinery. Installs or directs the installation of new equipment or rearranges existing equipment Maintains an inventory of spare parts Is available on call for emergency repairs as needed to keep plant in good running order Leads by example and practices good safety procedures in order to keep self and others injury free. Follows EHS policies and procedures. Performs and/or directs preventative maintenance on plant facilities and equipment as well as Mobile/Service DI water treatment equipment. Provides leadership to the Maintenance staff and directs the maintenance operations during the shift. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred: Associate’s Degree in electrical, industrial / mechanical, engineering, or water treatment disciplines Minimum of 3 years of Electrical install, repair, and maintenance work experience to include electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming, and 480V 3 Phase electrical repair and maintenance experience Trade school experience for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desired The job description is not designed to capture all the employee’s responsibilities but is intended to capture essential functions of the role.
