Your Specific Responsibilities: This Senior Physician position works within the Department of Health in Duval County to provide medical services in the area of Disease Control in the Comprehensive Care Clinic and Mobile Medical Unit providing coverage for HIV and STI care . Serves as a consultant for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in the Disease control division. All of the following duties require accuracy, safety, positive customer and team interactions, and adherence to protocol, polices, and procedures at all times. This position reports directly to the Medical Executive Director. This is done with cultural competence and in consultation with a physician if required by job title and as needed. Performs and/or orders labs, diagnostic procedures, and makes appropriate referrals as necessary. Analyzes data and uses problem solving skills while working within a team environment. Maintains patients’ records and ensures timely entry of each encounter in the electronic health record. Provides guidance regarding appropriate community resources. Provides HIV and STI services to males and females as indicated. Provides family planning services as indicated. Provides primary and specialty care services to patients who seek care at the Comprehensive Care Center including the mobile medical unit. Provides Pre-Exposure and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis, as well as any preventative services. Provides Test and Treat services. Provides comprehensive health assessment of client’s physical, psychosocial, and environmental status in order to develop, implement, monitor, and modify a plan of care. Speech Recognition — The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person Qualifications: Minimum: Active and in good standing license as a Doctor of Medicine (MD)/ Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). A Physician candidate is a clinician that currently holds, or is eligible for, a Florida medical license (Chapters 458 or 459, Florida Statutes). Preferred: A preferred candidate has at least six months of providing care to patients with communicable diseases such as HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
