Outpatient Registered Nurse, Neurosurgery

Job Description Summary Schedule: Monday – Friday, no weekends & no holidays. Hours: 8:15 am – 4:45 pm. Join our dedicated Neurosurgery team at OhioHealth Riverside, where clinical expertise meets compassionate care. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting both patients and providers in a highly collaborative, patient-focused specialty clinic. Responsibilities and Duties 30% Assessment/Diagnosis : Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual. 30% Outcomes Identification/Planning : Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs. 20% Implementation/Evaluation : Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; revises plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team. 10% Leadership : Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. 10% Operations : Focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties as a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Additional responsibilities include phone triage, suture/staple removals in‑office, patient education, coordination of care, rooming patients, and documentation support through platforms such as MyChart. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree (Required) Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Ohio Board of Nursing Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) – American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – American Red Cross Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills Experience in inpatient nursing and a proactive, compassionate approach to care coordination are preferred Work Shift Day Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Department Neurosurgery Riverside Equal Employment Opportunity OhioHealth is an equal opportunity employer and fully supports and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
