Box Truck Driver

Position Overview

Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Box Truck Driver to support our production and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for safely transporting materials between locations using a box truck (non-semi), ensuring accurate deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations.

This first shift, full-time position plays a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by ensuring materials are delivered on time, equipment is maintained, and documentation is accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver materials to customers and internal locations in a safe and timely manner
• Verify shipments by checking packing lists against delivered products to ensure accuracy
• Perform daily inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safe operation
• Maintain required logs, including Driver’s Daily Logs and mileage records
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed
• Support scheduling efforts to maximize vehicle utilization
• Maintain cleanliness and overall condition of company vehicles, including documenting maintenance and coordinating repairs
• Assist with general warehouse duties when not driving
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude at all times
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1–3 months of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with air brake endorsement required
• Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
• Proof of vehicle insurance required

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and delivery documentation
• Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments and maintaining logs
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members
• Basic math skills for calculations and measurements
• Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable learning company systems and processes

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
• Frequent use of hands and arms for handling and moving materials
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally (assistance required for heavier items)
• Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, or climbing
• Must have clear vision (close, distance, and peripheral) and depth perception

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to warehouse and driving conditions, including moving equipment and vibration
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
• Moderate noise level
