The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.Vast is looking for a Senior Facilities Technician, reporting to the Facilities Manager – Mojave Test Site, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations and the E-2 LOX/Kerosene oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine.This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Mojave Test Site location.Responsibilities:Schedule and/or perform routine building maintenance tasks including troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or carpentry requestsComplete various break/fix repairs to the facilities and premises as assigned. Some examples could include painting, patching walls, replacing ceiling tiles, assembling furniture, office equipment, and kitchen equipment, installing, replacing, and repairing carpet, tiles, etc.Day to day management of various contractorsPerform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managersTrack all work in the Facilities CMMS systemOperate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when neededMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certificate4+ years of facilities and/or maintenance experiencePreferred Skills & Experience:Experience with facilities within an aerospace industryExperience in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvementsBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas tradeKnowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methodsFamiliar with industrial air fittings and maintenanceAble to read instructions and blueprintsExperience in a fast-paced work environmentSelf-motivated and works well with othersManage company provided set of basic maintenance toolsSafety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes & hoists, fall protection equipmentAdditional Requirements:Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestonesMust be able to stand for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionMust have a valid CA driver's licenseAbility to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work in an outdoor, physically demanding test environment (from freezing conditions to temps up to 120 degrees fahrenheit)Pay Range: California$37 - $52 USDWe calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
