Job Title PS CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Job Summary As a patient‑focused organization, the University of Utah Health Sciences seeks a CRNA to enhance health and well‑being through patient care, research and education. Compensation and Benefits Total compensation ranges from $302,000 to $324,000 annually, including a 14.2% employer contribution to your 401(k). A $30,000 moving stipend is offered. Paid time off includes 7.6 weeks (38 days) for vacation, personal leave, CME time, and holidays, plus twelve sick days (96 hours) earned monthly. Over‑time earns $145 per hour. Responsibilities The CRNA performs pre‑operative evaluation by reviewing staff notes, progress notes, lab work, and patient histories to determine appropriate anesthetic management. The CRNA may order additional analyses, consultations, and peri‑anesthetic medication. They monitor equipment, induce general or regional anesthesia, and manage the procedure by tracking physiological indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, blood loss, patient position, and arterial blood gases. The CRNA adjusts anesthesia as required and informs other medical personnel of developments. Post‑anesthesia recovery is overseen by monitoring indicators and performing post‑operative evaluation, with appropriate documentation in staff notes and patient charts. Qualifications Certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Utah. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills. Completion of an AANA‑approved curriculum and 24 months of concurrent practicum experience (or equivalent). Passing scores on the national AANA exam and bi‑annual recertification with 40 hours of continuing education units. Physical Requirements Continuous monitoring of equipment and patient vital signs.
