Custom By Mamak is a fashion design studio specializing in custom‑made garments and thoughtful, detail‑oriented garment construction and alteration. The studio focuses on creating unique pieces working with high‑end clientele and luxury fashion houses including Hermès, Christian Dior Couture, Celine, Carolina Herrera, AMIRI, Dolce & Gabbana, and Ralph Lauren. Role Description This is a part‑time, on‑site Atelier Internship with potential for full‑time hire, most suitable for those with a background in design and garment construction. The intern will support the designer in garment construction, alterations, and creating sketches, technical drawings, and specifications. Daily tasks include assisting with pattern drafting, fabric cutting, sewing, fittings, alterations, and finishing details to ensure high‑quality construction. The role also involves organizing studio materials and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace. The intern will collaborate closely with the owner of Custom By Mamak, offering an immense opportunity to learn from her 30 years of design and garment construction experience. Qualifications Basic to intermediate sewing skills, patternmaking knowledge, and a strong interest in garment construction and finishing techniques. Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work closely with a small design team and interact respectfully with clients. Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Ability to assist with client‑facing administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries, and managing order tracking. Comfortable supporting day‑to‑day studio operations such as maintaining inventory of materials, organizing supplies, and coordinating with vendors as needed. What You'll Gain Compensation is project‑based, structured on a 60/40 revenue split — with 40% going directly to the intern for each completed piece, offering real earning potential tied to your output and skill development. Hands‑on experience in couture‑level garment construction, alterations, and finishing techniques under the mentorship of a designer with 30 years of experience.
