Electrical Estimator

The Opportunity We are seeking an Experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Kennett Square, PA . The Electrical Estimator will develop accurate, competitive, and comprehensive estimates for industrial electrical construction projects. This role combines technical expertise, cost analysis, project understanding, and customer communication to help drive successful project outcomes and company growth. What You'll Do Analyze blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical documents to determine material quantities, labor hours, equipment, and project requirements. Prepare detailed estimates, including material take-offs, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses. Research material costs, subcontractor pricing, and market conditions to develop accurate and competitive bids. Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities for value engineering. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, quote reviews, and project meetings. Collaborate with project teams to develop competitive pricing and effective project strategies. Maintain vendor, supplier, historical cost, and estimating data to support future bids. Monitor estimating workload and capacity and assist with coordinating interdepartmental estimates. Participate in project postmortems and feedback meetings to continually improve estimating accuracy and processes. Team Leadership & Development Promote a collaborative, team-oriented approach within the estimating department and across the organization. Coach and mentor team members, helping identify strengths, development opportunities, and career growth plans. Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with estimating and project teams. Sales & Customer Relationships Support follow-up on bids, projects, and business opportunities. Maintain professional communication with customers regarding project scope, pricing, and information needed for estimating. Strengthen communication between estimating, operations, and sales teams regarding bidding strategies and opportunities. Continuous Improvement Partner with Operations leadership to identify and implement estimating best practices. Identify technologies and processes that improve safety, quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Explore innovative estimating, prefabrication, and project execution strategies that improve value for our customers and the company. Safety & Quality Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, integrity, and continuous improvement. Learn and consistently follow M. Davis & Sons' safety and quality standards and protocols. Conduct all responsibilities with a high level of professionalism and business ethics. What We're Looking For Experience estimating industrial electrical construction projects . Strong understanding of electrical layouts and installation, including: Conduit Cable tray Duct banks Wire and cable terminations Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) . Understanding of value engineering and cost optimization. Proficiency with estimating software; Trimble Accubid experience is a plus . Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word ; Microsoft Project experience is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Industrial and hazardous-location experience is a plus. Experience with instrumentation and control panels is a plus. Education & Experience Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience . Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship is preferred. Demonstrated experience in electrical estimating and industrial construction. What We Offer At M.
