The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for preparing and processing all accounts receivable transactions, ensures proper reconciliation of all customer payments and maintains all accounting records according to established record retention guidelines.Essential Job FunctionsUnderstand and embody the Shingle Core ValuesPerforms basic accounting duties to include general ledger account maintenance and may include preparation, review and/or posting of journal entries on a monthly basisEnter invoices to customer portalsProcess customer payments through Accounts Receivable software (High Radius)Process customer credit card paymentsMaintaining spreadsheet records including but not limited to monthly workpaper summaries, receivable statisticsProvide periodic or regular support to the Accounts Receivable function by assisting withProcessing invoice batches for distribution to customersResponding to customer inquiries with questions regarding open invoices, payments or account statusCollections support for overdue and delinquent customer accountsSupports the Leadership Team by performing any assigned financial, administrative, or clerical tasks in the Accounting Department as assigned by the Controller and Supervisor of AccountingMaintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing results as needed.Communicates, promotes and showcases the Shingle & Gibb Core Values, policies and procedures throughout the organization.Job RequirementsEducation:High School Degree or equivalent is required.Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field study is preferred.Experience:1-3 years of general accounting experience is required.Required Skills:Knowledge of Accounts Receivables procedures.Technology fluent in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)Proficient in data entry and management.Attention to detail.High level of accuracy.Problem-solving.Teamwork.Customer/ Client focus.Good Communication Skills.Work Environment:As a member of the Accounting Department, the Accounts Receivable Clerk is required to work from the Shingle location in Newtown, CT. Most of the work will be completed in an office setting and a workspace will be provided for the Accounts Receivable Clerk including, but not limited to, a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines. If assigned tasks may be performed outside of normal workspace to ensure complete confidentiality.Physical Demands:The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential job functions:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Ability to lift up to 15 pounds independently.Travel:The Accounts Receivable Clerk will not be required to travel.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties and responsibilities that are required for this job.
