Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (Temp or Perm, no EMSA)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of concurrent experience in telemetry specialty required
• Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience within the last 6 months required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, including 6+ months of continuous recent travel assignments
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required
• Valid copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 1:4 patient ratio
• May be required to float to like or lower acuity units (excluding ED) across a 5-hospital system, at or below skillset
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week cycle
• Required to work at least one holiday, including the holiday weekend
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, and IV therapy conditions preferred
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and insulin protocols preferred
• No first-time travelers considered for this role
• Returning staff and travelers may reapply after a 1-year separation from the facility
• Maximum 7 days of RTO permitted, with no additional requests after consideration
• Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, except LVNs/MAs
• Candidates who have been on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months are considered local and are not eligible
