Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing)

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing) Pay Rate: $120,000 to $150,000 /YEAR Location: Washington, DC / Chicago, IL We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer focused on HVAC and Plumbing design within commercial building projects. The candidate will provide senior engineering and design leadership to the local and national Mechanical teams, lead projects, mentor engineers and designers, and represent the Mechanical discipline during client meetings. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing HVAC and plumbing design activities, developing project work plans, selecting appropriate mechanical systems , establishing the basis of design , and ensuring the overall quality of project deliverables. They will also coordinate mechanical and plumbing designs with other disciplines and Project Managers and provide support during the construction phase. Minimum 8+ years of focused HVAC and Plumbing design experience . Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is required. Strong experience with commercial building projects and leading-edge mechanical design. Hands-on experience with HVAC and plumbing system design and documentation . Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite . Experience with Trane TRACE load calculation software. Ability to develop and manage project work plans. Strong understanding of mechanical system selection and basis of design. Experience with construction-phase support, including submittal reviews and RFI responses . Ability to coordinate mechanical/plumbing design with other project disciplines. Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills. Experience mentoring and guiding Mechanical Engineers and Designers.
