Our team is made up of innovators, problem-solvers, and visionaries committed to making space more accessible and fostering the next generation of space exploration.ispace-US is looking for a Production Test Engineer that will support ongoing testing activities for our Lunar Lander and Relay Satellites. As a Production Test Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, executing and analyzing all encompassed testing to accept and qualify our vehicles, various subsystems, & in-house manufactured components. You will work closely with the design REs, AI&T members, and other teams such as Avionics, Systems, and GNC to ensure design/mission requirements and industry standards are met.Key ResponsibilitiesWork with a small, highly technical team through development, qualification, and acceptance testing of lunar lander hardware and softwareDefine test requirements, environmental conditions, and instrumentation/equipment needed for our Vehicle.Develop, review, and execute test plans, procedures, and verification documentation for aerospace hardware, subsystems, and integrated systemsPerform as a Test Engineer and Certified Test Conductor (CTC) responsible for safe development and execution of integration & test procedures.Plan and coordinate test campaigns, including facility requirements, ground support equipment (GSE), instrumentation, data acquisition, safety reviews, and logisticsDesign, Develop and/or oversee fabrication of tooling & test fixtures as neededExecute tests with the help of test technicians, test engineers, or design teamAnalyze test data, document results, generate test reports, and provide recommendations to engineering leadership and program teamsCollect and reduce data to determine if requirements are met. Generate test reports to stakeholders in order to validate our processes & hardware.Provide feedback and/or aid in the PMP (Preventative Maintenance Plan) and expansion of the testing team's equipment and testing facilitiesResponsible for the assembly and test procedures for the structural, propulsion and avionics assembly and integration vehicleCollaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve shop floor issuesDocument and provide resolution to non-conformances.Support root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation resulting from test failures or hardware anomaliesDevelop and maintain test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, procedures, and laboratory capabilities to improve efficiency and repeatabilityMaintain configuration control of test articles, test equipment, procedures, and associated documentation throughout the program lifecycleBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related discipline.2+ years of MFG and/or Test Experience in the aerospace or electronics realm.Experience working in collegiate project teams (e.g. Formula SAE, Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and/or professional experience Professional experience with instrumentation and data acquisition (e.g. SPICE, SQL, and/or National Instruments hardware)Familiarity with data acquisition systems, scripting, or automation tools (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, etc.)Experience with requirements verification and traceability methodologiesMinimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware testing, integration, or verification activitiesExperience developing and executing test plans, test procedures, verification documentation, and test reportsFamiliarity with qualification and acceptance testing methodologies for aerospace or other high-reliability systemsStrong understanding of engineering documentation, configuration management, and verification processesAbility to work hands-on with hardware in laboratory, cleanroom, and manufacturing environmentsStrong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with pneumatic testing at various pressures and volumesIn-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of operations, engineering, safety and quality.Strong working knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and quality control standards.Ability to work with a team along with providing guidance to drive improvements towards process efficiency.Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.$81,000 - $122,000 a year The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
