Role Overview The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. They select, prepare, and organize supplies and equipment, scrub in on surgeries, operate surgical equipment, and assist with instrumentation and surgical counts. Their responsibilities include ensuring proper preparation and organization for a variety of surgical cases, performing activities under the guidance of nurses and surgeons, and maintaining professionalism throughout. Qualifications And Skills Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology. Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Preferred: One year of experience as a certified surgical technologist. Key Duties Prepare supplies and equipment for surgeries. Assist in surgical procedures by organizing instrumentation and participating in counts. Operate surgical equipment and support the surgical team.
