Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Class A CDL Shuttle Driver (Local CDL A Truck Driver) to transport end-dump loads to designated disposal outlets.

The driver will operate a Class A tractor-trailer with an end-dump trailer and complete multiple shuttle runs during each shift. This position plays an important role in keeping operations moving by transporting and unloading materials safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has commercial driving experience, a strong safety record, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial environment. Previous end-dump experience is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer with an end-dump trailer.
• Shuttle loads from the processing facility to designated disposal sites or outlets.
• Complete multiple trips per shift while maintaining the required production schedule.
• Safely position and operate end-dump equipment during unloading.
• Confirm the unloading area is level, stable, and clear of overhead or surrounding hazards before raising the trailer.
• Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Safely transport and unload materials according to company procedures.
• Verify load weights and comply with all DOT weight restrictions.
• Complete required driver logs, inspection reports, load tickets, and transportation documents.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch and operations regarding route status, delays, and production needs.
• Immediately report accidents, mechanical problems, equipment damage, or safety concerns.
• Keep the tractor and trailer clean and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Assist with other transportation or operational duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License .
• Current DOT medical card.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Commercial tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening.
• Ability to pass a background check, if required.
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to safely operate manual or automatic transmission vehicles, as required.
• Ability to complete required electronic or written documentation accurately.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and follow established safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating end-dump trailers .
• Experience hauling bulk materials, waste, compost, aggregate, construction debris, or agricultural products.
• Experience working around industrial, recycling, landfill, agricultural, or construction operations.
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices and GPS navigation systems.
• Basic mechanical or equipment-troubleshooting experience.
• Heavy-equipment or material-handling experience.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Regularly climb into and out of commercial vehicles throughout the shift.
• Climb ladders and safely access trailer components.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach while completing inspections or operating equipment.
• Sit and remain alert for extended periods while driving.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and changing weather conditions.
• Work around industrial materials, disposal facilities, uneven surfaces, noise, and potentially unpleasant odors.

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness, sound judgment, and strict compliance with all company and DOT safety requirements. The driver is responsible for protecting their own safety and the safety of coworkers, customers, and the public.
