Job Description
IMCU Float Pool RN - Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates may be required to float to MedSurg based on patient volume and must cover up to 2 weekends per month.

Job Description

The IMCU Float Pool RN will work in step-down/progressive care units, providing advanced nursing care with a focus on telemetry monitoring. The RN will manage patients receiving high-acuity care while ensuring comfort and safety. Occasional pediatric patients may be encountered, and the RN should be prepared to care for them as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient telemetry and manage complex care for those in an IMCU/telemetry setting.
• Administer medications, including IV drips such as Heparin, Nitroglycerin, and Amiodarone within established protocols.
• Provide patient education and support during care transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct assessments, while managing a patient ratio goal of 4:1 and an average census of 20-24.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of IMCU or telemetry nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of travel nursing experience required.
• Active RN license in NC or compact state.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required, with a preference for AHA accredited courses.
• Must possess recent experience with Epic EMR system and telemetry skills.
