Electrical Journeyperson - Lockport

Industrial Electrician Journeyperson General Motors is looking for qualified Industrial Electrician Journeypersons to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical equipment and circuits, and to provide technical expertise on control systems. Primary Responsibilities Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures. Maintain and repair electrical equipment. Analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing and correcting issues quickly to avoid production delays. Perform electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment. Promote teamwork and collaborate with other departments. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics. Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills. Qualifications At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade. Successfully complete GM hiring process requirements: comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and background check. At least 18 years of age. Eligible to work in the United States. Willing to work flexible shift hours (day, afternoon, or night) and overtime, including weekends and holidays with little notice. Must stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate a busy environment. Must drive mobile equipment when needed. Must not require immigration sponsorship; GM does not provide immigration‑related sponsorship for this role. Physical Requirements Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals. Ability to work and stand for extended periods. Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment. Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed. May lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional sitting during certain tasks. Drive mobile equipment when required. Compensation & Benefits General Motors UAW hourly employment offers a competitive compensation package. The compensation range for a Journeyperson in Training is $36.68–$42.80 per hour, and for a Journeyperson is $43.67 per hour. An annual incentive payout may be available for qualified employees.
