Maintenance Tech 3 Reports To: Supervisor, Maintenance Position Summary Generic Summary Manages repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and utilities, including: Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments Installing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing facilities infrastructure Making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions Local Specific Summary The Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment at our facility. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and autonomy compared to a lower level maintenance technician, with a focus on complex troubleshooting, repairs, continuous improvement, and mentoring. Local Primary Duties Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently Contribute to root‑cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment issues Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry‑level technicians Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required High School Diploma, GED or equivalent 3+ years of related experience – intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting, schematic and print reading, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience required Preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in electro‑mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of electro‑mechanical systems Associate’s Degree preferred with experience in electro‑mechanical, high‑speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems Experience working in a cGMP/Regulated environment desired Able to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLCs, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems desired Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating a plus Basic Computer Skills required; must be experienced and proficient in the use of email, Windows Operating Systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word & Excel) Education High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Associate’s Degree preferred with experience in electro‑mechanical, high‑speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems Key Skills (KSAs) Acting with Honor and Being Open – Consistently upholds and reflects the core ethical principles and values that bioMérieux promotes Intellectual Horsepower – Analyze data and make decisions/recommendations, using data to guide decision-making and provide suggestions for improvement Communicating Effectively – Written Communications, including the ability to communicate technical data in written form Focusing on the Bottom Line – Perseverance: Demonstrates perseverance and a focus on outcomes Maintaining Focus – Make timely decisions by quickly choosing effective solutions in high‑pressure situations for optimal outcomes Getting Organized – Practicing time management to allocate tasks, balance priorities, and meet deadlines efficiently Skilled in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel – Intermediate: applies skills independently in most situations; handles moderately complex tasks with occasional guidance Functionally Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods – Yes Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like – Yes Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day – Yes Ability to operate heavy machinery – Yes Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions – Yes Domestic travel required – 0% International travel required – 0% Total – 0% Compensation The estimated salary range for this role is between $28.00 - $42.00. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
